HOW WAS I EVER ABLE TO LIVE IN THERE ?

here are few phrases which occupied my thoughts before going to sleep and after reading mr seguin’s goat by alphonse daudet to my children.

– It’s over ; the goats are bored living with me, jI won’t be able to keep any of them.

– From that moment on, the field’s grass lseemed to lack taste to her. Boredom set in. She became skinny.

How small it is ! she said ; how was I ever able to live in there ?

– Mr Seguin did in fact notice that something was wrong with his goat, but he didn’t know what it was...

– Nope ! not going to happen... I’ll save you despite yourself, you little rascal, and, to make sure that you don’t break off your leash, I’ll lock you inside the cowshed and you will remain there forever.

How small it is ! she said ; how was I ever able to live in there ?

– Large blue bellflowers, foxgloves with long calices ; an entire forest of wild flowers overflowing with intoxicating sap !...

– Poor little thing ! seeing itself perched up so high, it thought it was at least as tall as the world..

– A gyrfalcon, that was flying in, brushed her wings against her when passing. The goat shivered...

– It said to itself that it would probably be best to allow itself to be eaten right away ; then, having changed its mind, it took on a defensive position...

– Oh ! I hope I can survive until dawn...

– Finally ! said the poor little thing, which was resigned to waiting for daylight to come so that it could die.

when the morning had begun, part of me had changed.my wolf and my goat had reconciled. By devouring each other, they learned how to settle the fable that makes me a man.
